Category added to center fundraiser

The fundraising drive to raise money for the new Valley Center Community Center is closing in on its overall goal to raise $1 million.

Organizers have added a new contribution category in an effort to reach the top. They are looking for Community Challengers to contributed $5,000 each. Other categories include Patron ($1,000 to $9,000), Benefactor ($10,000 to $49,000), Library Foundation Club ($50,000 or more) and the popular K Club ($1,000).

To donate, call the Valley Center Public Library at 755-7350.

The Community Center will include a library, senior center and community building. It will be located in Lions Park.
