JERRY BAINUM Last Updated: January 29, 2015 Jerry Jim Bainum, 72, died Jan. 22, 2015. He was a teacher and football coach at Chanute, Little River, Shawnee Mission West, Trinity Catholic, Wichita Collegiate, Centralia and Onaga high schools, and at Fort Scott Community College. He was born Sept. 16, 1942 in Arlington, Kan., the son of Brice and Betty Ann Burgess Bainum. He married Linda M. Nelson on March 24, 1978, in Chanute. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include: his wife, Linda of Emporia; sons, J. Wade Bainum of Houston and Sean Bainum of Kansas City, Mo.; daughters, Dawn Bainum Schrock of Olathe and Jennifer Bainum of Virginia Beach, Va.; eight granddaughters and one grandson; brothers. David Bainum of Dover, Rex Bainum of Hutchinson and Dale Bainum of Celina, Texas; and sisters, Janet Southards of Valley Center and Retha Pearce of Wichita. Cremation was planned with a memorial service in the spring. Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home of Emporia had charge. |
