4-H report
Last Updated: January 29, 2015

Valley Victors

The Valley Victors 4-H Club was called to order at 7 p.m. Jan. 12 at West Elementary. The meeting was called to order by Alyssa Zimmerman. The flag salute was led by Eleanor Jacobs and the 4-H pledge was led by Gracie Nelsen. Roll call was answered by naming your favorite thing about Kansas.

Lindsey Reynolds was welcomed as the newest member of Valley Victor's 4-H Club.

Yearly 4-H enrollment has rolled over to online registration. Even though you may have registered on paper, you still must register online no later than March 1 in order to show at the county fair.

County Club Days is Saturday, Feb. 7, at Central Community Church in Wichita. Valley Victors is performing a skit. Other members will be performing individually as well. We had volunteers gather for the skit  after the meeting.

Then, we had a community leader informational presentation about "Tips for Public Speaking," by Brigitte Crist. We learned many great hints that we need to put into our demonstrations.

Next, Joey Spratt shared his knowledge and demonstrated how to play the pianica. Then he accompanied the song leaders, Sonya Zimmerman, Ellie Jacobs and Audrey Crist, in the song "Home on the Range."

During Recreation, we played the game of Kansas Pictionary and it was a BLAST! Recreation leader was Abby Anderson.

We will be hosting a Kansas Day Quiz Bowl from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, at the Valley Center Public Library. The public is invited to come and take part as well as the 4-Hers. All ages are welcome.

Our next meeting will be 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, at West Elementary. If you have any questions about the club and its activities, call Nancy Anderson at 755-0205.
