Calvary Baptist Church

Sunday worship is at 9:30 a.m., followed by Bible study for all ages at 10:50. A nursery is provided. Children's church includes weekly scripture memorization, worship, mission stories and interactive Bible stories.

Christ Lutheran Church

The new summer service times are 9 and 10:30 a.m. with the Kid Friendly Service that used to be at 9:45 incorporated into both services. The new item is a 6 to 8 p.m. service that will incorporate vacation Bible school for the youth, and Bible study for the adults. This will begin with a free light supper at 6 p.m. and then split into various activities before wrapping up at or before 8 p.m. Each night is a stand-alone service.

As always, Communion will be served at all morning services.

A variety of weekly and monthly activities are offered including Falcon Fellowship (Free lunch for students at Heights High School on the second Wednesday of the month), youth groups, quilting, choirs and men's breakfast.

Faith Church

Worship service starts at 9:0l and 10:45 a.m. every week. The church is located at 325 N. Emporia.

A coffee bar is available every Sunday between 8:45 and 9:15 a.m. and 10:15 and 10:45 a.m. This is a time to connect and enjoy some java between Faith University and the worship service.

Children pre-K through fourth grade are invited to KidZone. Kids will learn the truth of God's word and learn how to apply these truths to their lives. KidZone meets at 9:16 a.m.

Awana Clubs will begin Sept. 4 for ages kindergarten through sixth grade. Awana Clubs begin at 6:30 p.m. and finish at 8 p.m.

Student Ministry has a Wednesday night program called Aftershock. Each night includes encouraging worship, relevant teaching, people meeting people and fun. This is for students in seventh through 12th grades from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Methodist Church

Sunday morning activities include Traditional worship service at 8:30 a.m., Sunday school at 9:40 a.m., and contemporary worship at 11:03 a.m.

Pizza with the Pastor for those wanting to know more about FUMCVC and the Methodist faith will be Sept. 1 at 12:15 p.m. in the Fireside Room.

Faithfully Fit Forever @ FUMCVC is an exercise class that has the combined focus of body, mind and spirit. It will be 7 p.m. in the WCC on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Sept. 3. This class is designed with three parts — 20 to 40 minutes of exercise, 10 minutes of health education and 10 minutes of faith and devotion. There will be a $15 charge for the 12-week class. This charge will help cover the cost of weights and resistance bands. If you have your own weights or resistance bands, there is no fee. This class is designed for all ages and people of all exercise backgrounds and is meant to bring exercise to you with the least amount of barriers possible. An informational meeting will be 7 p.m. Sept. 3 in the WCC.

Kickoff is Sept. 8. Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and one worship service at 10:45 a.m. A hamburger and hot dog luncheon will follow in the WCC immediately after the service.

Marvelous Monday Luncheon will be 11 a.m. Sept. 9 in the Fireside Room. Bingo follows luncheon. Menu this month is Bring $5 and a canned good and sign-up on the sheet by the office.

Adult Bible studies offered after Labor Day:

•Larksfield Faith Study, Mondays at 6:30 p.m., Larksfield Place.

•Pastor's Study, Wednesdays from 6 to 7 p.m., Fireside Room.

•Beth Moore Bible Study, Tuesdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Fireside Room.

•The Beth Moore Bible Study that has been chosen for this coming September is entitled "To Live Is Christ: The Life and Ministry of Paul." This 11-week study will be facilitated by Lin Neal and Olivia Wilbur. Sign up. Member books will be available for $15 each. A nursery will be provided upon request.

An adult work group from FUMCVC will be going to Camp Horizon to help in whatever projects they assign this fall. Work dates are Oct. 1 through 5. Judy Eskridge will be leading this group. Sleeping facilities and meals will be provided during these work days in October at a cost of about $25 per person for the week.

August's Open Door giving is pork and beans. September's is tuna. Bring all donations to the middle foyer.

Main Street Threads, a clothing thrift shop located next to Larry's Barbershop at 206 W. Main. Open Thursdays from 12 to 6 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cash only. No bills larger than $20 accepted.

Lutheran Church

St. Jude Catholic Church
