ALVIN BRANDT

Alvin "Lee" Brandt, Jr., 70, of Sherwood, Ark., died Jan. 17, 2013, following a lengthy illness.

He was born to the late Alvin and Marjorie (Griffin) Brandt on May 29, 1942. He graduated from Valley Center High School in 1960. He attended K-State and Wichita State University. He married Judy Smith in 1962 and celebrated their 50th anniversary in June 2012. After retiring, he worked part-time at Sylvan Hills U.M.C. Early Learning Center as a preschool teacher in the 2-year-old class, which he truly loved.

He is survived by his wife, Judy, of the home; daughter, Lisa Pflugradt and husband, Henry Jr. of Gower, Mo.; three grandchildren, Henry Pflugradt III and Sarah of Cheyenne, Wyo., Derek Pflugradt and Rachel of Holly Ridge, N.C., and Ashley Lobina and Eric, Jacksonville, Ark.; seven great-grandchildren, Lily, Eva, Luke, Ella, Aiden, Elijah and Isaac.

He was preceeded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Wayne "Smitty" Smith; son, Kevin Brandt; sister, Ann Marceau; and uncle, Harold Brandt.

Family requests no flowers.  Donations can be made to a memorial established in his name at Sylvan Hills U.M.C. ELC, 9921 Hwy. 107, Sherwood, AR 72120.
