There is a correction to the information about a party for Mildred Riggs’ 100th birthday on Dec. 12. Her grandchildren will be hosting a party on Dec. 13, and not Dec. 12 as indicated in the Dec. 4 issue of the News. The party will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 12 at Presbyterian Manor in Newton. The family requests no gifts, please. She is the oldest living graduate of Valley Center schools and has had four generations of children graduate from Valley Center schools. A card shower is also being held for her. Send cards to Mildred Riggs, c/o Presbyterian Manor, 1200 E. Seventh, Newton KS 67114.
