Kechi City Council approves long-term financing for projects Taylor Messick The council unanimously adopted a resolution authorizing and providing for the public sale of the city's general obligation bonds, Series A, 2018, in a total principal amount of about $2.5 million.

Save the Playhouse campaign reaches goal Taylor Messick Kechi's Save the Arts Gala on June 29 capped a successful fundraising campaign that will attempt to save the Kechi Playhouse. The event had wine, hors d'oeuvres, live music and live and silent auctions.

County land up for sale The News staff Lange Real Estate announced this week it will auction two commercial properties owned by Sedgwick County at noon July 17 at the Sedgwick County Fire Station on 77th North.

Driver hurt in wreck on 77th Chris Strunk Park City police said Michelle Martinez, 35, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after the wreck on June 28. Martinez was driving a Dodge Caravan east on 77th and pulled in front of a semi traveling north on Broadway.

Police find runaway in Park City The News staff Valley Center police responded to the 6300 block of North Sullivan where a woman said she was waking up her kids and noticed her oldest daughter wasn't in her bed. She searched the house and property and couldn't find her.
