Technically, the original agreement with the city has been broken because specific timeframes in the contract weren't met.

Brother arrested in fatal shooting Chris Strunk According to Sedgwick County jail records, Michael Lee Phillips was booked into the jail about 2 p.m. Feb. 12 on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated battery and two counts of aggravated assault.

Couple pleads not guilty in homicide Taylor Messick The hearing was prolonged two weeks ago when prosecutors felt they had additional details about the crime that justified new charges. An additional charge of aggravated kidnapping was dismissed in court on Feb. 22, but the charge of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamines was upheld against four defendants.

Fire destroys oversized garage Chris Strunk Fire Capt. Rob Tormey said the fire started when a heat lamp apparently came in contact with straw. The lamp was left on to keep a puppy warm in the southeast corner of the building.
