Leeker’s stores switch managers Taylor Messick Steindler has recently decided to swap locations to become the manager of Park City's Leeker's. He still opens the Valley Center store three days a week, but in order to keep a better eye on both businesses, he has appointed former Park City manager Andy Kraus to the Valley Center store.

Proposed calendar splits parent-teacher conferences into two weeks Chris Strunk The school board on Dec. 19 directed Superintendent Cory Gibson to get input from teachers and the community on a calendar that sets fall conferences Oct. 3 through 6 for secondary grade levels and Oct. 17 through 20 for elementary. It also sets spring conferences for Feb. 26 through March 2 for secondary and March 12 through 16 for elementary.

School board approves high school co-op Chris Strunk The Valley Center school board Dec. 19 approved the addition of seven new classes, including a pilot program that will start next semester.

Seniors to paint parking stalls Chris Strunk Koby Herbst and Blake Hawkins, student council members, presented a fundraising plan this week to the school board that would see seniors pay to paint and claim their own parking stalls in the lots at the school for the rest of the school year.
