Conductors abuse honking guidelines
I live right by the train tracks, and I can tell you the train conductors are not following federal guidelines when it comes to blowing their horns before crossings. They are only supposed to blow their horn 100 feet before the crossing. However, most of the conductors start honking at 77th and continue all the way to Meridian … then Main … then again at First Street, where there is no through street/crossing so they should not even be honking … again past Second and then honking until they pass Fifth Street.
