    There has been a breakthrough in the Tigua Street project in recent weeks, as KDOT has approved funding for the city of Kechi to begin work on the initial phases of engineering and construction.

    As a past community development director for Valley Center, I have been following the city's progress toward implementation of city's 2015-20 Comprehensive Plan. I am thrilled to see so many elements of the plan actually becoming reality, all for the betterment of the city.

    Many of the projects in the budget, such as improvements to parks and roads, were previously approved by the council. Some council members took issue with the fact that other projects weren't proposed to the council — and were instead recommended by city employees.

    It will start with registration to the car show at 8 a.m. The show will start at 9:30. More than 100 cars are expected as it is the only area car show on the Fourth. The parade will begin at 9 a.m. It will run down 61st North from Spangles to Hydraulic and then north to McLean Park. Lineup starts at 7:30 a.m.
