Competition heats up for Hornet runners David Dinell The competition was fast and their ranks deep at the Oct 17 at the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail Division II meet at Lake Afton. The Hornet girls had been hitting first place at a variety of meets earlier in the season, but the depth of competition at this meet took a toll on them, knocking them down to third place out of seven teams.

Hornets make early exit from state tennis Randy Fisher Sophomore Rachel Binau and freshman Jessica Sharp in doubles, along with senior Carly Espinosa in singles, all exited the state tournament on the first day. Binau, who played doubles at state last year, and Sharp were 1-2 in their first state together. Espinosa failed to win a match in her first state meet.
