Bel Aire council approves 37th reconstruction David Dinell The one-mile stretch of road between Woodlawn and Oliver will be expanded from two lanes to three, resurfaced and finished with curb and gutter. The project was given a green light from the Bel Aire City Council Feb. 17, which voted 5-0 to approve it.

Kechi formally adopts comprehensive plan David Dinell The City of Kechi now officially has a blueprint for its future — all the way to 2040. The city council approved the 2015-2040 Kechi Comprehensive Plan at its Feb. 12 meeting. Adoption of the plan — spelled out in a 92-page, 10-chapter document — was recommended by City Administrator Bob Conger and the city's planning commission.

Burks signs to play golf at Kansas City school Randy Fisher In buying real estate, some say the most important thing to consider is location. For Logan Burks, location was an important factor in deciding where he would play golf next year. He signed a letter of intent Feb. 13 to play at Avila University in Kansas City, Mo., a place that offers a lot with its location.
