Bel Aire
Bel Aire in position to bite into land debt Matt Heilman
    Two new schools, development in the city's industrial park and renewed confidence in the housing market has put Bel Aire in a position to take a bite out of its debt. City Administrator Ty Lasher said that in May, the city would be able to make a principal payment of $600,000 on its debt.

    With her military service complete, Kader, 37, now serves a civilian role for the City of Bel Aire. On Feb. 3, she began her work as the city's new senior coordinator. Kader, who lives with her husband in northeast Wichita, said she was drawn to Bel Aire because it's close to home and she enjoys working with seniors.

Beautification project nearing completion in Park City Matt Heilman
    A project designed to give a facelift to one of the main entrances into Park City is nearing completion. The ongoing work includes the reconstruction of the concrete median in front of QuikTrip at 61st North and I-135 and excavation by the Chisholm Trail cowboy statues in front of the Subway restaurant just east of QuikTrip at 61st North and Jacksonville.

    Sedgwick County fire crews were kept busy in the late afternoon to early evening hours of March 13 as they battled grass fires along major highways in the northern and eastern parts of the county. A fire that closed the westbound lanes of K-96 at Hillside spread along I-135 north to 61st North.
