Hornet athletes make us proud VCHS teams fell short of bringing home a state championship last weekend, but the Hornets should be thrilled with their performances. The VCHS girls' soccer team finished second in Class 5A to the one of the best teams anywhere and the VCHS girls' track team finished third in an always-strong Class 5A field. The state champion 1978 girls' track team remains the only team state champion in VCHS history, but every athlete who competed over the weekend deserves kudos for representing themselves, their school and their community well.
