Confusion surrounds Bel Aire election Matt Heilman The first public forum for Bel Aire City Council and mayoral candidates concluded with some controversy and confusion. At the March 18 forum, council candidate Carolyn Smith, wife of current Bel Aire Mayor Harold Smith announced she had filed to serve on the council for two years, completing the unfinished term of former council member Moe Terrebonne.

With cooperation from citizens, Kechi Police Chief John Blevins is working to establish a neighborhood watch program in response to a recent string of break-ins that has some residents on edge.

Stolen vehicle, meth recovered at QuikTrip The News staff Park City police performed a high-risk stop protocol on the 1997 Toyota Avalon, reported stolen out of Wichita, after it was spotted in the Quik Trip parking lot. Inside the vehicle, officers recovered a purse and a clear plastic bag with white residue, found under a back seat cushion.
