| Send school board a message
Our esteemed school district superintendent Mr. Lehr seems to think “it's kind of a blip" in regards to the dip in enrollment. Respectfully, Greg, what if it's not? Home mortgage rates are approaching 7 percent. With interest rates that high, I don't think a lot new families are going to be buying new homes and moving to Valley Center. Adding new capacity is only going to encourage even more out-of-district requests for enrollment. Ladies and gentlemen, if like me, you received a letter from the county appraiser last month, your assessed value went up, which means your taxes are going up, which means USD 262 is going to get more money. Has USD 262 talked to the Sedgwick County Treasurer's Office to determine how much that will be?
