Last Updated: December 31, 2020

Firefighters diffused a tense situation Dec. 29 as a truck hauling an ethanol trailer caught fire on 53rd near Hydraulic.

Park City police said the truck was traveling west on 53rd from Hydraulic when the engine caught fire. Sedgwick County firefighters responded. Police said streets in the area had to be closed until the fire was out and declared safe.

No one was hurt.

Police said the trailer was not full of ethanol. However, fumes are more hazardous than a full tank, police said.
