By The News staff
Last Updated: October 29, 2020

Two pickers tied for the top spot in Week 4 of The Ark Valley News Football Picks contest.

Gary Anderson and Dan Schmidt had 16 correct picks and had the same tiebreaker guess of 65, which was exactly the combined final score of the Alabama and Georgia game (41-24).

Anderson and Schmidt will each receive a top prize of $25 in Football Bucks.

Six other people had 16 correct picks. Mike Haden had the next-closest tiebreaker guess of 64 to win second place and $15 in Football Bucks.

Robert Scantlin had the next-closes tiebreaker guess of 67 for third place and $10 in Football Bucks.

The other players who had 16 correct picks (and their tiebreaker guesses) were Brian Carroll (69), Fred Messick (81), Judy Wilson (42) and Erik Riffel (42).

This week's prizes can be picked up at Tequila's Mexican Grill, 218 W. Main.

Two games went down as freebies this week as COVID forced the postponement of Cincinnati Bearcats @ Tulsa and LSU @ Florida.

Twenty-four people had 15 correct picks.

Scores will accumulate during the 10-week contest. The overall winner will receive $250 in cash.

Dan Schmidt still had a hold of the lead through Week 4 with 61 total points. Gary Anderson was still second with 60. Brian Carroll and Erik Riffell had 59 each.

Close behind were Mike Haden, Tom Cornwell, Cameron McDaniel, Derek Rindt and Sharon Scantlin with 58 each.
