What's on your mind Last Updated: October 15, 2020 Why roundabout? Did anyone with Park City, Valley Center or the Kansas Department of Transportation bother to check with the area's public before deciding to put a roundabout at the intersection of 77th and Broadway? Do they realize how drivers dislike roundabouts? While they may have been a great thing back east, when horses and buggies were the principle mode of transportation, they have no logical place in the middle of a highly travelled, not to mention high-speed, intersection. How about a nice cheap traffic light? Not just tax on soda Let's be clear about the proposed sales tax and extra mill levy. It will be on your water bill, electricity bill, gas bill, cable bill, cell phone bill, Amazon orders, Ebay orders, new car purchase, etc. I'm sure there are others, but you get the picture. It's not just on the pizza or soda you buy. It's everything you buy. With COVID shutdowns making life difficult now, we do not need to make it even more expensive to live. If the city would exempt utilities and non-prepared food (groceries), it might be more acceptable. Vote ‘No' We don't need another fancy building like the community center. Does not fit the town culture at all. Vote no on the increased taxes. They are too high now. Views from News readers |
