FOOTBALL PICKS: Royal wins Week 3 with 18 correct picks

In another wacky week in the NFL, Heath Royal had 18 correct picks out of 20 to win Week 3 of The Ark Valley News Football Picks contest.

Royal wins $20 in Football Bucks.

The Buffalo Bills-Tennessee Titans game and the New England Patriots-Denver Broncos games were postponed. Each picker was awarded points for both of those games.

With 17 correct picks, Jesse Regehr broke a three-way tie for second place. Regehr had the closest tiebreaker guess of 58. The combined final score of the Kansas City Chiefs-Las Vegas Raiders game was 72 (40-32).

Regehr wins $15 in Football Bucks.

Derek Rindt also had 17 correct picks and the next-closest tiebreaker guess of 55 to win third place and $10 in Football Bucks. Gordon Reddoch had 17 correct picks and a tiebreaker guess of 48.

This week's prizes can be picked up at Tom Troilo's dentist office, 201 W. Main.

Ten people had 16 correct picks. They were Harold Bohlmann, Curt Clark, Tom Cornwell, Chris Edwards, Kyrie Edwards, Kyle Lange, Mike Lempke, Erik Riffel, Sharon Scantlin and Tyson Schotte.

Scores will accumulate during the 10-week contest. The overall winner will receive $250 in cash.

Dan Schmidt was in the lead through three weeks with 45 points. Gary Anderson was second with 45. Derek Rindt, Harold Bohlmann, Tom Cornwell, Erik Riffel, Sharon Scantlin, Brian Carroll, Cameron McDaniel, Jeannie Reddoch, Danell Wilbur and Bobby Massey had 43 each.
