Park City OKs infrastructure for subdivision
By Taylor Messick
Last Updated: April 25, 2019

A neighborhood in Park City is continuing to grow.

The fifth phase of High Ridge Second Addition will have 37 homes near 69th and Hillside.

On April 23, the Park City council unanimously approved water and sewer improvements in the addition.

The developer, Elite USA LLC, presented petitions for water, sewer and paving in August. The council unanimously selected Mies Construction's bid of $389,120 for the work; the cost is $106,562 for water and $282,558 for sewer.

Also unanimously approved was the repair of the pump floor in the 53rd Street sewer lift station. A bid of $4,074.56 was selected from Pro Weld. The lift station has been re-used and was re-located to this location in 1985. It is badly corroded and is in need of repairs. The current floor will be sandblasted and a stainless steel overlay will be added. New electrical control panels will also be added.

The council also unanimously approved an ordinance amending the municipal code relating to the schedule of fines for traffic infractions. The move brings the city fine schedule for traffic offenses current with state statutes. City attorney Doug Mosier said that there are some minor changes to the fees, but nothing major. The biggest changes include the police training fund fee which went from $19.50 to $22.50. The court fingerprinting fee went from $10 to $25; state law allows it to be as much as $45.

In other business, the council:

Proclaimed April 26 Arbor Day.

Approved an ordinance amending the municipal code relating to exceptions to the consumption of alcohol on city-owned public property with a 6-1 vote.

Unanimously approved an Interlocal contract for cooperative purchasing with the Houston Galveston Area Council.

Council member Ben Sauceda was absent. There was no executive session.
