Police reports

Oct. 28 — Officers Scott Hamlin and Erik Nygaard responded to the Sonic at 200 S. Meridian where a vehicle damaged a menu kiosk and drove off without reporting it. Officers found the vehicle and cited the driver for failure to report an accident and no proof of insurance.

Oct. 27 — Sgt. Matt Vogt responded to a report of dogs at-large at Third and Emporia. He found the dogs, and they were not aggressive. He could not get tag information from the one with a tag.

Oct. 27 — Sgt. Matt Vogt provided traffic control at 1200 S. Meridian while public works disposed of two skunks, one dead and one live, in the roadway.

Oct. 27 — Sgt. Matt Vogt assisted with child custody in the 7000 block of North Interurban.

Oct. 27 — Officer Jerry Ezell assisted Sedgwick County sheriff with a suspicious person with a weapon in Bentley.

Oct. 27 — Officer Ryan Mumma responded to a theft at 110 E. Fifth. The calling party reported a man walked into the Kwik Shop and ate three hot dogs with no buns off the roller. Then he grabbed a bag of chips and left without paying.  

Oct. 27 — Officer Ryan Mumma responded to a suspected burglary at 426 N. Abilene. The calling party said someone turned on the lights in her kitchen. The house was checked but no one was there.

Oct. 26 — Officer Jerry Ezell responded to a non-injury accident at Main and Meridian.

Oct. 25 — Officer Eric Leeker took a report of a theft that reportedly occurred between May and August 2018. Jewelry was reported missing from the reporting party's house.

Oct. 25 — Officer Jerry Ezell assisted Sedgwick County sheriff with an animal control disturbance in Bentley.

Oct. 25 — Officer Jerry Ezell assisted a motorist who was lost and had no idea where she was. He escorted her from the Kwik Shop to Broadway so she could get to Newton.

Oct. 25 — Officer Jerry Ezell responded to the 400 block of North Colby for two pit bulls at-large. Animal control was contacted, and one dog was taken in.

Oct. 25 — Officer Ryan Mumma responded to an alarm at 230 S. Sheridan. It was false.

Oct. 23 — Officers Scott Hamlin and Erik Nygaard served a search warrant at 138 S. Abilene where marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found. They cited four people living there for possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

Oct. 23 — Officers Scott Hamlin and Erik Nygaard responded to the Brookfield Apartments where the calling party said a juvenile was trying to run away. Officers talked with the juvenile about appropriate coping skills and had him apologize to his parents.

Oct. 23 — Officer Ryan Mumma assisted Maize police with an injury accident in the 3800 block of North Maize Road.

Oct. 22 — Officer Rasheed Berry responded to vandalism at 85th North and Broadway. A Cornejo foreman said a motor grader and a rental excavator had been shot at with a BB gun.

Oct. 22 — Officer Rasheed Berry assisted EMS at Valley Center High School.

Oct. 22 — Officer Rasheed Berry responded to Valley Center High School for a two-vehicle, non-injury accident involving a school bus and an SUV. Berry cited both drivers.

Oct. 26 — 737 N. Meridian, seizure.

Oct. 26 — 330 N. Emporia, assist resident.

Oct. 23 — 101st North and Hillside, injury auto accident.

Oct. 23 — 6345 N. Randall, Park City, building assist.

Oct. 23 — 9301 N. Osage, burn permit.

Oct. 22 — 222 N. Birch, difficulty breathing.

Oct. 22 — 9600 N. Meridian, unknown EMS.
