HORNET FOOTBALL: Valley Center loses to Ark City

The Valley Center High School football gave up a late lead and fell to Ark City 34-20 on the road Friday (Oct. 12).

The Hornets trailed 14-0 after the first quarter and 14-6 at the half. Valley Center took a 20-14 lead in the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs scored the game's final 20 points for the win.

The Hornets fell to 3-4. Ark City improved to 2-5.

Valley Center got on the board in the second quarter on an 84-yard pass play from Parker Schrater to Larry Wilson.

The Hornets scored in the third quarter on a 19-yard pass from Schrater to Zach Williams.

Schrater connected with Wilson again in the fourth quarter for a 44-yard touchdown.

Ark City took advantage of a Valley Center turnover to put together three straight touchdowns.

The Hornets will host Goddard Eisenhower on Oct. 19.
