Police reports

Sept. 23 — Officer Rasheed Berry assisted Sedgwick County sheriff with an alarm at 8830 N. Ross. It was false.

Sept. 23 — Officer Rasheed Berry responded to an alarm at 1602 W. 61st North. It was false.

Sept. 23 — Officer Rasheed Berry responded to a disturbance at Lions Park. A 10-year-old was roughhousing with his sister. Berry spoke with the young man and had him apologize to her. 

Sept. 23 — Officer Scott Hamlin responded to a disturbance at New Hope Services. A resident did not want to be bossed around by the staff. Hamlin told the resident this was neither an emergency nor a criminal matter.

Sept. 22 —Officers Ryan Mumma and Jerry Ezel and Sgt. Jason Easley responded to Main and Meridian and the 200 block of East Allen for domestic violence. A male subject was arrested on a charge of domestic violence battery.

Sept. 22 —Officers Jerry Ezel and Sgt. Jason Easley responded to 874 Redbud Court for a welfare check. A juvenile at home thought someone was inside the house. Officers checked the residence, and it was clear.

Sept. 21 — Sgt. Michael Gordon responded to a suspicious person at Ford and Dexter. The calling party said a vehicle was driving "weird" in the area. The vehicle was not located.

Sept. 21 — Sgt. Michael Gordon responded to a suspicious vehicle at 800 N. Meridian. He checked an inoperable vehicle in the middle school parking lot. A tow truck arrived and retrieved the vehicle.

Sept. 21 — Sgt. Michael Gordon took additional case information at the station from a Department for Children and Families social worker. 

Sept. 21 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Jerry Ezel and Sgt. Jason Easley responded to a disturbance at 310 E. Fifth. A mother was upset that she couldn't get her child from his father since it was her night for visitation. It was a civil issue.

Sept. 21 — Officer Serenity Donham responded to Main and Park where three juvenile females got into an altercation. One of them punched a second one, jumped on top of her and continued to hit her. The third female climbed on top of both females and began punching the first. Officers Scott Hamlin, Jeremy Manning and Rasheed Berry responded to assist Donham with breaking up the fight and separating the parties. 

Sept. 21 — Officer Serenity Donham responded to Clay and Dexter for a traffic accident involving a possibly drunken driver. Officer found a possible drunken driver stopped at Miles and Clay that matched the description of the suspect vehicle. During the stop, the driver accelerated in reverse and collided with the front end of Dunham's patrol car.

Sept. 21 — Officer Serenity Donham responded to 430 Valley Creek Drive where two suspicious people were reportedly in a construction site. Donham found a vehicle parked there that matched the description of the suspect vehicle. No one was seen or found on the premise.

Sept. 20 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Jerry Ezell responded to McKay Petrie Sports Complex for a set of vehicle keys found in the parking lot. The owner was not home when officers tried to contact them. The keys were ultimately returned to the owner. 

Sept. 20 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Jerry Ezell responded to 2 Windmill Court and 139 S. Birch. A woman was upset that her child's father wouldn't return her son since it was her visitation night. She wanted a welfare check done on her son at the father's house. The father felt threatened by the mother's new boyfriend who was receiving random unknown phone calls. Officers determined it was a civil issue regarding child custody.

Sept. 20 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Jerry Ezell assisted EMS at 100 S. Park.

Sept. 20 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Jerry Ezell responded to a possible runaway in the 300 block of West First. A juvenile male and juvenile female ran away from a foster home in Wichita on Sept. 17. The juveniles were transported to the Wichita Children's Home.

Sept. 19 — Officers Jerry Ezell, Scott Hamlin and Ryan Mumma and Sgt. Jason Easley responded to 800 Meadow Road. No contact was made with the caller.

Sept. 19 — Officers Jerry Ezell, Scott Hamlin and Ryan Mumma and Sgt. Jason Easley assisted EMS at 821 W. Third.

Sept. 19 — Officers Jerry Ezell, Scott Hamlin and Ryan Mumma and Sgt. Jason Easley checked for a wanted individual at 222 N. Park. No contact was made because he had moved in early June. Officers asked Wichita police to contact the subject at his job, but he was not at work when they tried.

Sept. 18 — Officer Rasheed Berry responded for a welfare check at Meridian and Butler. A man was reported walking in the road with gold and black face paint, dark shirt and black jeans. No contact was made.

Sept. 17 — Officer Rasheed Berry responded to 522 N. Abilene. School office staff called police to report a mother dropping off her child at school turned in a black eyeglass holder with blue and clear crystal-like substance and a glass tube bong (water pipe). She told the office it was sitting by the front door on the ground. 

Sept. 17 — Officer Scott Hamlin responded to 118 N. Cedar where an unconscious woman was found on the front porch. He woke the woman and confirmed she was OK. She refused medical treatment and went back into the home.

Sept. 17 — Officer Erik Nygaard and Sgt. J.C. Kirk responded to a shooting call at 250 E. Allen. A 26-year-old man appeared to have suffered a single gunshot wound to the head.

Sept. 22 — Main and Meridian, assist law enforcement.

Sept. 22 — 4811 W. 77th North, unknown call for EMS.

Sept. 22 — 409 N. Meeds, check for gas leak.

Sept. 22 — 200 S. Colby, medical alarm.

Sept. 21 — 596 W. Second, gas odor outside.

Sept. 21 — 300 W. Ness, miscellaneous.

Sept. 21 — Main and Park, diabetic.

Sept. 21 — Main and Meridian, sick person.

Sept. 21 — 510 W. Albert, headache.

Sept. 20 — 930 N. Redbud Court, abdominal pains.
