Wichita man killed in wreck By The News staff Last Updated: January 11, 2018 The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office released the name of the man who was killed in a two-vehicle wreck Jan. 1 on Ridge Road near 73rd North. Daniel C. Poynter, 25, of Wichita was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. According to a sheriff's office report, a vehicle was northbound on Ridge Road just before 2 a.m. when the driver noticed a second vehicle approaching from behind at a high rate of speed. The driver pulled to the side of the road to allow the second vehicle to pass. However, the second vehicle struck the first vehicle, causing the second vehicle to go out of control and enter a ditch. The driver was ejected from the vehicle, which landed in a yard. The other driver was not hurt. |
