Police reports

Aug. 13 — Officer J.C. Kirk responded to 260 E. Allen for a disturbance with a weapon call. The disturbance was about bicycles left in the grass but did not involve a weapon. Kirk was able to get both parties to calm down. 

Aug. 13 — Officer J.C. Kirk assisted Maize police at 45th North and Maize Road with a person who said he wanted to kill and shoot at police. 

Aug. 13 —Sgt. Matt Vogt assisted Park City police with a disturbance at 1639 E. Evanston.

Aug. 13 — Officer Ryan Mumma assisted Valley Center fire at 1158 Longview Court with a fall. Fire and EMS needed help getting a man off the floor and into an ambulance.

Aug. 13 — Officer Ryan Mumma responded to an abandoned vehicle at the Kwik Shop, 110 E. Fifth. An employee said the vehicle had been in the parking lot for more then 30 minutes with the driver not around. Police informed the employee of the options.

Aug. 12 — Officer Jeremy Manning responded to a suspicious person in the 500 block of Dexter. A resident saw a juvenile walking down the street looking into cars. Manning couldn't find anyone in the area.

Aug. 12 — Officer Jeremy Manning responded to 221 N. Colby for a Rottweiler barking at kids in the neighborhood. Officer located the dog's home and returned it. He warned the owners of what could happen to their dog or others if it continued to get out.

Aug. 12 — Officer Jeremy Manning responded to a theft at 123 S. Colby. A bike was stolen and found later at Lions Park.

Aug. 12 — Officer Jeremy Manning responded to a theft at 130 N. Park. A bike was stolen and found later at Lions Park.

Aug. 12 — Officers Erik Nygaard and Eric Leeker responded to a disturbance at 227 N. Meridian. A woman said when she went to get her belongings from the house, a man pushed her and slammed her fingers in a freezer. A case report was made to present to prosecution.

Aug. 11 — Officer Jeremy Manning monitored traffic and checked for warrants.

Aug. 11 — Officer Eric Leeker responded to indecent exposure at 221 S. Meridian. A man at the laundromat had his hand in his pants when a female customer walked by. He removed his hand, which exposed his genitals to the customer. The man left in a vehicle.

Aug. 10 — Officer Jeremy Manning responded to assist EMS in the 500 block of Deerfield Court. He was disregarded by EMS and fire.

Aug. 9 — Officer Rasheed Berry transported prisoners for court.

Aug. 8 — Officer J.C. Kirk responded to Westwind and Southwind for a criminal damage to property and theft call. Street signs were stolen, and the sign pole was broken at the base.

Aug. 8 — Officer J.C. Kirk provided information to a resident about options for her daughter's behavioral issues and suicidal actions. The woman did not want police to contact her at this time.

Aug. 8 — Officer J.C. Kirk followed up at 526 and 529 W. Main.

Aug. 8 — Officer J.C. Kirk responded to 650 Scott to pick up a suicidal subject who didn't want to go to the hospital. She resisted and kept trying to hurt herself while in custody. He was able to get her to the hospital for an evaluation.

Aug. 8 — Officer J.C. Kirk assisted Wichita police at Lincoln and George Washington Boulevard with an abandoned vehicle with a flat tire in the middle of the road. The owner returned with a good tire and changed it before Wichita officers arrived. 

Aug. 8 — Officer J.C. Kirk assisted second shift with three calls and a burglary case follow up. He tried to pick up evidence, but the individuals were not home.

Aug. 8 — Officer Rasheed Berry responded to 446 Elm. The calling party said their neighbor had been watching their children from his doorway the last few weeks and had been touching himself.

Aug. 8 — Officer Ryan Mumma assisted Sedgwick County sheriff at 8715 N. Jacob with an attempted suicide.

Aug. 7 —Sgt. Matt Vogt responded to a theft call at 721 Deerfield. The calling party said sometime during the past few months a 2018 registration decal for their tag was lost or stolen.

Aug. 7 — Officer Jason Easley responded to 213 N. Emporia and tried to contact a resident who owns a vehicle found abandoned in Florida. Nobody was home.

Aug. 7 — Officer Ryan Mumma responded to 460 N. Emporia, Apt 105. Maize police, while questioning three people, discovered a checkbook that belonged to a Valley Center resident at this location. Mumma was unable to confirm that the checkbook belonged to this resident.

Aug. 10 — 6525 N. Seneca, permit.

Aug. 10 — 501 Deerfield Circle, difficulty breathing.

Aug. 10 — 344 S. Meridian, chest pains.

Aug. 10 — 121 S. Meridian, check smoke in building.

Aug. 10 — 440 N. Emporia, No. 406, unknown EMS.

Aug. 9 — 6944 N. Seneca, permit.

Aug. 9 — 460 N. Emporia, No. 113, abdominal pain.

Aug. 9 — 625 N. Abilene, eye problems.

Aug. 8 — 338 N. Ash, sick person.

Aug. 7 — 8345 N. Broadway, grass fire.

Aug. 7 — 10024 W. 109th North, injury accident.

Aug. 7 — 93rd North and 103rd West, assist police.
