FOOTBALL PICKS: Haas breaks tie to win Week 6 of football picks

Gary Haas broke a two-way tie to win Week 6 of The Ark Valley News football picks contest.

Haas and Curt Clark had 17 out of 20 correct picks. Haas had a tiebreaker guess of 47, while Clark's was 68. The combined final score of the Kansas City Chiefs' win over the Oakland Raiders was 36.

For third place, Bobby Massey and nine other pickers had 16 correct. Massey had the closest tiebreaker guess with 43. Others who had 16 correct picks (and their tiebreaker guesses) were Vic Carroll (45), Ryan Nutter (46), Craig Rindt (47), Billy Wilson (47), Jarrod Truman (51), Cameron McDaniel (51), Amanda Davidson (52), Doug Spencer (52) and Jeannie Reddoch (55).

Haas wins $20 in football bucks, Clark $10 and Massey $5. This week's prizes can be picked up at Halstead Bank, 101 W. Industrial.

The football bucks can be used at Leeker's Family Foods, Valley Liquor & Smoke Shop, Tequila's Mexican Grill and Valley Point Golf Course.

Nine people had 15 correct picks. They were Mike Haden, Fred Messick, Harold Bohlmann, Ben McDaniel, Judy Wilson, Erik Riffel, Delcie Malcom, Debbie O'Rear and Jordan Dingman.

Scores will accumulate during the 10-week contest. The overall winner will receive four tickets to the Dec. 18 Kansas City Chiefs-Tennessee Titans football game at Arrowhead Stadium, lodging and $100 in cash.

Through six weeks, Cameron McDaniel took sole possession of first place with 85 points, three points better than Gary Haas, Craig Rindt, Mike Haden and Jesse Regehr. Maria Weaver, Shane Neal, Larry Garren and Emily Williams had 81.
