 School group helps families Last Updated: November 25, 2015 The Valley Center Middle School and Intermediate School Fellowship of Christian Athletes show a sample of the items they collected during a community food drive Nov. 21 around Valley Center. Leader Crystal Coleman said the group went door to door on a Thanksgiving food scavenger hunt for one and one-half hours and collected enough money and food to feed 24 families in need in the community. The families and FCA said they are thankful for the community's support. Each family received a box of food, plus 10 pounds of potatoes and a turkey or a ham. Families with pets received cat or dog food as well. "We want to thank the entire Valley Center community for their donations and support," Coleman said. |
