Cyclist killed in wreck on Broadway By Chris Strunk Last Updated: March 20, 2015 A Sedgwick man was killed in a motorcycle wreck at 85th North and Broadway March 14. Park City police said Kenneth A. Baker, 62, died after his motorcycle collided with a truck in the intersection about 3:30 p.m. Chief Phil Bostian said Baker was riding north on Broadway and a truck driven by Eric M. Miller of Valley Center was westbound at the intersection. Bostian said the truck stopped at the stop sign and then proceeded into the intersection, where the motorcycle struck the pickup on the driver's side. Baker was thrown from the motorcycle, Bostian said. He was not wearing a helmet. Baker was taken to Via Christi St. Francis hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Miller was not injured. Bostian said the police department is actively investigating the accident, with assistance from the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office and its accident reconstruction team. "At the conclusion of the investigation, the case will be presented to the Sedgwick County Attorney's Office for their consideration regarding whether any charges will be filed in connection with the collision," Bostian said in a news release. |
