By Matt Heilman
Last Updated: October 30, 2014

One man was found dead in a rural Sedgwick County home following an Oct. 24 house fire reported shortly before 8 a.m. in the 5100 block of North Ridge Road, southwest of Valley Center.

The man was identified as 48-year-old Randall Eugene Ketzner.

Sedgwick County Deputy Fire Marshal Bill Hinkel said Ketzner was the only occupant of the home at the time of the fire.

Hinkel said fire crews from Sedgwick County and Wichita responded to the fire, which he said caused "extensive damage" to the home. Hinkel said Sedgwick County EMS, the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office and the State Fire Marshal also responded to the scene.

Hinkel said the cause of the fire has yet to be determined. He said there are four agencies involved with the investigation including the Sedgwick County Fire Department, the Wichita Fire Department, the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office and the Kansas State Fire Marshal's Office.
