Trick-or-Treat Street is returning to downtown Valley Center. Businesses will line the street handing out candy from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31. A costume contest, pumpkin decorating contest and games will take place inside LeVenue. Bring an already decorated pumpkin for the contest. More than 600 children participated in Trick-or-Treat Street last year. … The average price for a gallon of gas in the Wichita area fell 4.1 cents in the past week, averaging $2.97 on Oct. 12. The national average fell 6 cents last week to $3.21, according to GasBuddy.com. Two men reported to police that two female employees from the Red Garter came to their motel room and assaulted them and took their wallets. Both men found their wallets and recanted their statement about the women assaulting them. ... On Oct. 8, Valley Center police assisted Park City police with a burglary in progress at 455 E. Rolling View. The calling party said an unknown suspect attempted to enter the residence through a bedroom window. Officers checked the area and did not find any suspects. Park City officers found evidence of an attempted entry.
