Warehouse expansion to continue on Park City industrial property
By Matt Heilman
Last Updated: November 29, 2012

Air Capital Delivery and Warehouse CEO Lou Robelli has plans for further expansion. At its Nov. 27 meeting, the Park City Council approved a request to vacate setbacks on land at the northeast intersection of 59th North and Prospect Road in the Air Capital Industrial Park, located just south and west of I-135. What's planned for the property is an 80,000-square-foot warehouse, adding to two large structures already in place.

Park City Administrator Jack Whitson said Robelli has yet to disclose any possible tenants that could occupy the warehouse.

At its Dec. 11 meeting, the council will consider the issuance of $6,750,000 in industrial revenue bonds for the Air Capital Warehouse project which Whitson said includes the 80,000-square-foot warehouse as well as a truck wash across Prospect Road.

Currently, the Air Capital Industrial Park includes a 300,000-square-foot warehouse leased to TMX Aerospace and an unoccupied 200,000-square-foot space that is expected to have a tenant in the near future, Whitson said.

Also on Nov. 27, the council:

•Heard from Pride member Carol Flower who thanked the city for help in preparing Pride's Christmas lights display in front of Subway

•Held a 10-minute executive session to discuss matters relating to attorney-client privilege pertaining to possible litigation. No binding action was taken in the closed session.

•Approved a resolution for the city to participate in the Kansas PRIDE Program.

•Approved the low bid from Utility Maintenance of $29,400 for a manhole rehabilitation project

•Approved $400 funding from the events committee budget for a caroling event. The council also approved sanctioning the event. The motion was approved 6-1. Council member Tom Jones opposed the expenditure, sharing his feeling that the city shouldn't be responsible for the funding. He pointed out that most area cities put on community events through donations and don't rely on tax dollars.

Council member John Lehnherr was absent from the Nov. 27 meeting.
