Initial plans revealed for Echo Hills development
By Matt Heilman
Last Updated: May 19, 2011

Although nothing is set in stone, there is finally progress that supports long-time speculation that Echo Hills Golf Course will close in the next few months and be transformed into commercial property.

After overcoming a hurdle with the state to relocate a planned frontage road on the property, Echo Hills Development LLC manager Mike Loveland is working to bring tenants to the soon-to-be former golf course near I-135 and 53rd North.

While the details haven't been finalized, Loveland recently completed the tentative plat for the Echo Hills development. Plans include commercial lots throughout the former golf course, with plenty of parking. Initial plans call for space at the south and east parts of the property to be left untouched for now, but available for future development.

At a May 10 Park City council meeting, development engineer Phil Meyer with the Baughman Co. said Echo Hills Golf Course is expected to close by July 5.
