June 15--Officer Troy Griggs reported arresting Larry Penn and Harold E. Rodman for theft of an extension ladder from the top of a van parked on the north side of Kentucky Fried Chicken at 6085 N. Air Cap. Penn allegedly stole the ladder and Rodman reportedly was waiting in a suspect vehicle, the officer reported. Penn also was found in possession of a crack cocaine pipe.

June 15--Officer Troy Griggs assisted the Wichita Police Department in recovering a stolen van at 6085 N. Air Cap after two identified men were discovered stealing an extension ladder from it.

June 14--Officer Dwight Wilkes responded to a false alarm at 930 N. Connolly Ct.

June 14--Officer Dwight Wilkes reported giving Phillip W. Elliott of Park City a notice to appear for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at 1811 E. Ventnor.

June 14--Officer Dwight Wilkes reported arresting Phillip W. Elliott of Park City on a Sumner County traffic warrant at 1811 E. Ventnor.

June 14--John C. Tripp reported a hit and run to his parked vehicle by an unidentified man in a white Crown Victoria at 6223 N. Broadway. Timothy Dye was the reporting officer.

June 14--Creason Corrugating reported an unidentified person damaged property at 5844 N. Broadway. Timothy Dye was the reporting officer.

June 14--Vehicles driven by Steve W. Snyder and John W. Ford collided while both were attempting to turn right onto 53rd North from Millheights. No injuries were reported, Officer Kevin Werlein reported.

June 14--Two juveniles were involved in a fight in the parking lot west of the pool, Officer Kevin Werlein reported. One juvenile later was located by Officer Timothy Dye and transported to the Juvenile Intake Assessment Center.

June 14--Officer Kevin Werlein assisted a citizen.

June 14--Officer Kevin Werlein responded to the report of a window peeper in the 1300 block of Frontenac. The suspect was described as having long red hair and a lip ring and wearing black jeans.

June 14--Sgt. Gavin Anspaugh responded to a false alarm at 5545 N. Mill Heights Drive.

June 14--Sgt. Gavin Anspaugh responded to a false alarm at 1725 E. 61st North.

June 14--Officer Carl Enterkin respnded to a false alarm at 6350 N. Broadway.

June 13--Officer Dwight Wilkes contacted two suspicious people looking into a residence at 5349 N. Broadway. It was a relative, the officer reported.

June 13--Officer Michael Kingsford responded to the report of an animal loose at 6509 N. Wendell. He located an injured chow and the dog was picked up.

June 13--Officer Michael Kingsford checked on an open door at a business. Everything was OK.

June 13--Officer Michael Kingsford checked on an unlocked gate at a business. Everything was OK.

June 13--Officers Dwight Wilkes and Michael Kingsford responded to an injury accident at 61st North and Broadway.

June 13--Officer Timothy Dye responded to the report of a stray white, black and brown pit bull in the area of the 6500 block of East Parkview. The animal was impounded by Dennis Rader.

June 13--Offier Kevin Werlein responded to the report of an identified male vagrant at 6223 N. Broadway. The man was last seen near 5600 N. Hydraulic.

June 13--Officer Carl Enterkin delivered a message to a citizen.

June 13--Sgt. Gavin Anspaugh reported arresting Owen Edwards for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at 1700 E. Broadbeck. He also reported arresting Matthew Urbanek for possession of drug paraphernalia.

June 13--Sgt. Gavin Anspaugh reported turning in a wallet belonging to Matthew Urbanek as found property at 1700 E. Broadbeck.

June 12--Officer Dwight Wilkes assisted another law enforcement agency in locating and transporting an identified runaway to the Wichita Children’s Home.

June 12--Officer Carl Enterkin assistsed EMS with a man who was ill at 6328 1/2 N. Broadway.

June 12--Officer Carl Enterkin assisted the county fire department with the evacuation of guests at a motel due to a fire alarm at 6075 N. Air Cap Drive. There was no fire, the officer reported.

June 11--Officer Michael Kingsford reported ticketing and releasing Lee Ramirez for driving while his license was suspended. The 1988 Buick Park Avenue he was driving was impounded.

June 11--Officer Michael Kingsford responded to the report of a runaway. He talked with the parties involved and the juvenile returned home.

June 11--Officer Michael Kingsford reported impounding an abandoned vehicle at 700 E. 61st North. The 1992 Buick Skylark later was turned over to its owner.

June 11--A vehicle driven by Darcy L. Olson was turning south onto Broadway from 53rd North and failed to yield the right of way to Virgil E. White’s eastbound vehicle on 53rd at Broadway, Officer Kevin Werlein reported. There were no injuries. Olson was ticketed.

June 11--Officer Kevin Werlein reported stopping a truck driven by Marvin E. Pipes Jr. for improper turn and a citizen driving complaint. He was found to be DUI and was transported to the Sedgwick County Jail.

June 11--Jessica Owsley of Wellington, Colo., reported leaving her purse at McDonald’s, 5900 N. Air Cap, and being unable to locate it. Sgt. Henry Spurlock was the reporting officer.

June 11-- Sgt. Henry Spurlock responded to the report of a noninjury accident at 8500 N. I-135. Kansas Highway Patrol worked the accident.

June 11--Sgt. Henry Spurlock responded to the report of a vehicle fire at 5000 N. I-135. A green Ford Explorer had overheated and the officer requested the Kansas Highway Patrol motor assist vehicle to aid the driver.

June 11--Sgt. Henry Spurlock assisted Officer Glen Davidson of the Valley Center Police Department at a disturbance at 7024 N. Clarence. The disturbance was verbal, the officer reported, and there were no problems.

June 11--Sgt. Henry Spurlock responded to the report of a suspicious person driving an older white van in the 6700 block of North Wendell. He was unable to locate anyone in the area.

June 11--Officer Troy Griggs responded to the report of telephne harassment.

June 11--Jarris J. Perkins reported the burglary of her residence and that a freezer door was left open, causing $50 worth of food to spoil at 4616 N. Hydraulic. Keith Goodall was the reporting oficer.

June 11--Officer Troy Griggs responded to the report of a disturbance at 2016 E. Evanston.

June 10--Officers Michael Kingsford, Terry Love and Dwight Wilkes and Detective Troy Johnson conducted traffic enforcement resulting in 11 tickets written for 18 violations.

June 10--Roy Ebarb reported the theft of a 1996 Ford F150 extended cab pickup truck valued at $5,000 at 5929 N. Broadway. The vehicle later was recovered at 5700 N. Prospect, Officer Michael Kingsford reported.

June 10--An identified woman reported an identified man spit on her during an argument. Another identified woman reported the man broke her windshield, Officer Dwight Wilkes reported.

June 10--Officers Michael Kingsford and Dwight Wilkes responded to the report that a counterfeit $10 bill was attempting to be passed at 6235 N. Broadway. Evidence was collected and an identified male suspect was released pending further investigation.

June 10--Leigh Walker backed a vehicle out of the driveway at 227 Choctaw and struck a legally parked vehicle belonging to Emily Ramsey, Officer Timothy Dye reported.

June 10--Officer Timothy Dye responded to the report of a verbal disturbance at 6129 Judson. One person left prior to his arrival. There was no evidence of a crime at the time of the call, the officer reported.

June 10--Officer Kevin Werlein checked on a pedestrian eastbound on 53rd North who was swinging a long stick. The identified man was intoxicated, the officer reported, and left the area without the stick.

June 10--Sgt. Henry Spurlock responded to a false alarm at 1724 E. Ravena.

June 10--Diane S. Schropp of Hastings, Neb., reported the theft of three necklaces from a makeup bag in her room at 990 Connolly Ct. Keith Goodall was the reporting officer.

June 9--George BH. Hoffman Jr. reported an unidentified person breaking 10 windows on his rental property at 1224 Charleston. Terry Love was the reporting officer.

June 9--Wilma J. Bohlken reported the loss of her Kansas driver’s license June 2, possibly at 928 E. 61st North. Terry Love was the reporting officer.

June 9--Sgt. Henry Spurlock assisted the sheriff’s office at a false alarm at 2346 E. 45th North.

June 8--Officer Michael Kingsford responded to the report of property theft overnight from a private vehicle and four diesel trucks parked in the lot at Clearwater Trucking, 650 N. Broadway. Items taken included tools, a CB radio, a Norelco shaver, a briefcase and a small TV. The victims of the theft, Jackie Redford, Larry Harmon and Mike Barden, all are drivers for the business, the officer reported.

June 8--Officer Terry Love reported issuing numerous citations during traffic enforcement throughout the city.

June 8--Officer Terry Love assisted EMS with a woman who had fallen at 1210 E. Charleston.

June 8--Officer Terry Love responded to the report of a juvenile boy leaving his black nylon wallet containing $10.26 at a garage sale June 5. The wallet and money were turned in to property and evidence, the officer reported.

June 8--Beverly J. Jones reported her car was stolen from 5757 N. Broadway where it was dropped off for service. The vehicle was located at a shop in the area where it had mistakenly been left by one of her employees, Officer Kevin Werlein reported.

June 8--Jackie A. Redford reported his red 1987 Nissan pickup was parked at his place of employment, Clearwater Trucking, 5650 N. Broadway, when the vehicle was burglarized and $350 worth of miscellaneous property was stolen. The theft occurred between 5:30 a.m. June 7 and 9 a.m. June 8, Officer Troy Griggs reported.

June 8--Officer Keith Goodall responded to the report of a noninjury accident in the parking lot at 7700 N. Hayes Drive. A vehicle driven by Carolyn Agee struck a vehicle driven by Erik Perez in the front passenger area, resulting in minor damage. Thee were no injuries.

June 8--Sgt. Gavin Anspaugh reported recovering a stolen vehicle from the Wichita Police Department that had been left in the roadway at 4800 N. Hydraulic. The vehicle was stripped of its engine and transmission, the office reported.

June 8--Officers issued five tickets during traffic enforcement at 4600 N. I-135.
